A balloon  of mass 1000 kg is floating at some height. If 100 kg mass is released from the balloon. Then the acceleration of the balloon is : [g = 10 ms–2]

Case-I : Initially.        

   

W – R = 0    

1000 g = R            .... (i)

Case-II : 

Now R – 900 g = 900 a.  .... (ii)

by adding equation (i) & (ii)

1000 g – R + R – 900 g = 900 a

100 g = 900 a.

or   a = 100g900=1000900  = 1.1 m/s2 upward
