Given : m = 200 gm = 0.2 kg

S = 400 cm = 4m, u = 0
From second equation of motion, S = ut + $\frac{1}{2}$ at²
4 = 0 + $\frac{1}{2}$ a × (2)² ⇒ a = 2m/s²
$∵$ Force = mass × acceleration = 0.2 × 2
