Solution

Point (3λ + 1, λ + 2, 2λ + 3) on first line lies on second line.

∴3λ+1−31=λ+2−12=2λ+3−23

⇒ 6λ – 4 = λ + 1 ⇒ λ = 1

∴ Point of intersection = (4, 3, 5)

∵Equation of plane P will be

4 (x – 4) + 3 (y – 3) + 5 (z – 5) = 0

⇒ 4x +3y + 5z = 50.

Let a point B lie on line

x−11=y+21=z−32=k

∴ B = (k + 1, k – 2, 2k + 3)

∵ AB is parallel to plane.

∴ AB is normal to normal of the plane.

∴ AB→= ki^+(k−4)j^+(2k−1)k^  and  normal n→=4i^+3j^+5k^

4k + 3(k – 4) + 10k – 5 = 0

⇒ 17k = 17 ⇒ k = 1

∴ Point B = (2, – 1, 5)

∴AB=12+32+12=11.
