Question

A random variable X has the probability distribution

X = x : 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
P(X) : 0.15 0.23 0.12 0.1 0.2 0.08 0.07 0.05

Events E = {X is a prime number} and F= {X / X < 4}

(i) :(EF)¯=0.23

(ii) : p(EF)=0.65
Which of I, II is (are) true ?

Prime numbers = 2, 3, 5, 7
F = 1, 2, 3
E∪F = {1, 2, 3, 5, 7}

EF={1,4,5,6,7,8}

P(EF)¯=1P(EF)=0.1+0.08+0.05=0.23

P(EF)=10.230.12=0.65
Hence, option 'C' is correct.
