When the given speech is converted into indirect speech the present tense in the sentence will be written in the past tense. Personal pronouns will also change. 'You' will become 'him'.
Thus option C is eliminated as it uses 'you' instead of 'him'.
Option D is eliminated because it doesn't covert present tense of the sentence to past tense. It should be 'what it was' instead if 'what is it'.
Option A is correct as it correctly changes the sentence to indirect speech.
'what is it' will be written as 'what was it' as past tense of is = was.
Option B is incorrect as it converts 'what is it' to 'what it was'. Had the given question been, 'What it is that makes you stronger...?' then it would have been correct.
