'Nevertheless' is used to indicate that the second point made contrasts with the first point. It is used to show the meaning 'in spite of' that. 'But' is used to contrast the ideas. 'Yet' is used to mean nevertheless or however. It carries a sense of negation. 'And' is used to express also, in addition, moreover and plus. 
The given sentence can be completed by adding 'nevertheless' because the contrast is shown between the accident and shattering of the window. Thus, option B is the correct answer.
