$[\begin{array}{cc} - 2 & 0 \\ 3 & 1 \end{array}] [\begin{array}{c} - 1 \\ 2 x \end{array}] + 3 [\begin{array}{c} - 2 \\ 1 \end{array}] = 2 [\begin{array}{c} y \\ 3 \end{array}]$

$\Rightarrow [\begin{array}{c} 2 \\ - 3 + 2 x \end{array}] + [\begin{array}{c} - 6 \\ 3 \end{array}] = [\begin{array}{c} 2 y \\ 6 \end{array}]$

$\Rightarrow [\begin{array}{c} - y \\ 2 x \end{array}] = [\begin{array}{c} 2 y \\ 6 \end{array}]$

Hence, 2y = – 4, 2x = 6

∴ x = 3

y = – 2
