Solution

∵∫0xlog|x|dx=x(logx−1)

I=∫0π/2sinx.log|sinx−cosx|dx                 .....(1)

I=∫0π/2cosx.log|sinx−cosx|dx               ......(2)

I=∫0π/4(sinx+cosx).log|sinx−cosx|dx

=[(sinx−cosx)(log|sinx−cosx|−1)] 0π/4

Now, Re (x + iy – 1) + Re ((x + iy)2) = –1

            (x – 1) + x2 – y2 = –1

            x2 – y2 + x = 0 ⇒ y2 = x2 + x                               ..............(1)

∵|z|=x2+y2=1⇒x2 + y2 = 1

            x2 + x2 + x – 1 = 0

            2x2 + x – 1 = 0

            (2x –1) (x + 1) = 0

⇒x=−11/2y=03/2

∴z+z¯=2x=1

z+z¯=2x=−12
