Circumradius Inradius and exradius
Question

In a ∆ABC, twice of its circumradius is equal to side AB and 2cosec4A+3cosec4B=65.

If 27cosec8A+8cosec8B=3p+2q5r  (p, q, r ∈ N) then find the value of (p + q – 3r).

Solution

2R = C ⇒ ∠C = 90°

2sin4A + 3cos4A =65

⇒2(1−cos2A)24+3 (1+cos2A)24=65

⇒cos2A=−15

⇒ 27sin8A + 8cos8A

=27 (1+15)424+8 (1−15)424

=27 · 64+8 · 4424 · 54=37+2754

⇒ p = 7, q = 7, r = 4 ⇒ (p + q – 3r) = 2. Ans.
