The mean of weight of a class of 34 students is 46.5 kg. If weight of the teacher is included, the mean rises by 500 gm. Then the weight of the teacher is :

Solution
The mean of weight of a class of 34 students is = 46.5 kg
Total weight = 34 × 46.5
= 1581 kg
If weight of the teacher is included, then mean weight = 46.5 + .5 = 47 kg
Total weight = 47× 35 = 1645 kg
The weight of the teacher is = 1645 – 1581
= 64 kg
