Olympiad results

The Olympiad selection runs in stages, and each stage narrows the field. Reaching the national stages is the achievement worth recording, and these are the students who have.

Why we teach Olympiads at all

Olympiad problems are not harder JEE problems; they are a different activity. They reward a student who will sit with one problem for an hour rather than twenty problems for three minutes each — and that habit is exactly what JEE Advanced tests. It is why Olympiads sit inside the Foundation and Class XI programmes rather than being sold as a separate course.

Saksham Bishnoi reaching the Chemistry Olympiad's second round two years running, and then taking AIR 168, is the same story told twice.

Common questions

Olympiad results, answered

What does "Above MAS" mean?
Above the Minimum Admissible Score — it puts a student in the national band for their subject at that stage. It is a real threshold rather than a participation marker.
Which Olympiads does Zigyan prepare students for in Faridabad?
NSEP, NSEC, NSEB and NSEA in Class XI, IOQM for Mathematics, and NSEJS for Class X and below — the national qualifiers that lead to the Indian and International Olympiads.
When should Olympiad preparation start?
From Class 8. NSEJS is open to Class 10 and below, and the Foundation programme builds the habit of sitting with one hard problem long before the qualifier year.
Is Olympiad coaching a separate course at your Sector 16 centre?
No — it sits inside the Foundation and Class XI programmes at our Sector 16 centre in Faridabad, so a student prepares for Olympiads and for JEE or NEET on one timetable.
Do Olympiads help with JEE Advanced?
Yes. Olympiad problems reward a student who will stay with one problem for an hour rather than rush twenty, which is exactly what JEE Advanced tests two years later.

The Olympiad pathway starts in Class 8

NSEJS is open to Class 10 and below, and the habits it builds are the ones JEE Advanced rewards.
