(1) Transpiration
(2) Transpiration is the process of evaporation of water from aerial parts like leaves, and stems.
Roots consume some amount of water from the soil and the rest evaporates in the atmosphere. Parts of plants such as stems, small pores on leaves, and flowers evaporate the water into the atmosphere. In other words, it is the process in which water evaporates in the atmosphere from plant leaves and other parts.
(3) It helps in water transport, cools the plant and maintains turgidity of the cells.
(4) Factors that increase transpiration :
(A) Temperature.
(B) Air movement.
(C) Light intensity.
(5) Water movement in plants is through osmosis from the roots to the stems and other aerial parts is indicated by the arrow.
