Solution

Given: no. of moles = 1 mol.
Increase in temperature 30ºC.

 Condition ∝ T2/3

To find the amount of work done to increase the given temperature.

We know PV nRT (n-moles)
for 1 mole PV RT.

W=PdV=RTVdV

V CT2/3 (∵ ∝ P2/3)

dv=23CT1/3dT

dVV=23CVT1/3dTdVV=23dTT

Now T2 the work done is given as:

W=T1T2RT23dTT=23RT2T1=166.2J

=23R(30)

∴ (A)166.2 J is the correct option
