Testa represents the outer layer of seed coat and develops from outer integument of ovule. Tagmen is the inner layer of seed coat which develops from inner integument layer of ovule. Testa and tagmen together form seed coat and surrounds aleurone layer. Aleurone grains store the granular protein in a thin aleurone layer which forms the outer most covering of endosperm; “A” is endosperm and D is aleurone layer. Coleoptile (B) is a protective covering that surrounds part of epicotyl (the immature shoot). The single cotyledon of maize grains (monocot) is called as scutellum (C) and is present between developing embryo and endosperm. Option A is correct.
