  • The female reproductive system of cockroach (Fig. 73.35) consists of a pair of ovaries, vagina, genital pouch, collateral glands, spermathecae and the external genitalia.
  • The A, B & in the given picture are: 
A - Spermathecae:
  • These are a pair of club-shaped, unequal-sized, one spermatheca being larger than the other, structures.
B - Collateral Glands:
  • There is a pair of white much-branched collateral glands, the left is much larger than the right.
C - Gonapophyses:
  • The external genitalia of female lie concealed inside the gymnatorium. They consist of an ovipositor formed by two gonapophyses.
