To find: - oxidation number of Nitrogen is NH3
Solution:-
As there are 3 chlorine Atoms is NCl3, the total oxidation number for chlorine is 3(3 × (–1)).
since, the sum of the oxidation numbers must be equal to 0 ,
the oxidation Mo. of Nitrogen in the compound is +3.
