Hypermetropia is the inability of an eye in viewing the nearby objects. The image in this case is formed beyond the retina. This is due to the reason that the converging power of eye lens decreases and it is not able to converge the diverging rays coming from nearby objects to retina.

So It is corrected by using a convex lens, due to this net converging power is increased ,which converges and shifts the image to the retina.
